Countess: There's no bad upgrade here. I've been using upgrade #2 if I get Villager out early to heal Countess, and #3 if I don't get villager early so Countess can heal herself.
Giant (PEKKA is a good sub to try): Getting him out first round will start building his HP.
Villager: Great buffs for Countess. Use #2 (Heal Hero) if you use Countess #2 (to make her attack faster). Use #1 (+1 Hero damage) if you use Countess #3 (to make her heal herself).
Dagger Thrower: Upgrade #3 (3x damage), then #1 (2x damage every 4 hits).
MPEKKA: I've only been using upgrade #3 - Energy Drain.
MArcher: I've been starting with upgrade #1 - 3 arrows every 3 hits.
