Guide
With Byron, your main goal is to find the perfect balance between dealing damage and healing your allies, if you play too passive and focus on healing teammates, you are subjecting them to a 2v3 which often results in defeat. If you play too aggressive without paying attention to teammates health, you are ignoring a major component of Byron’s kit, which is his ability to heal teammates. As you play Byron, you want to position yourself in the middle of your teammates, always within range and line of target with your teammates to heal them. The most ideal time to use your super is when an enemy is close to or on top of you, this will result in both the enemy taking damage, and you being healed. This often occurs when an assassin is on top of you and trying to kill you. Another ideal time to use your super is when there are 2 or more enemies grouped together, or there are 2 low health teammates grouped together. This is a splash damage ability so you want to take advantage of it. I have noticed that auto-aiming the super often leads to it being thrown where you don’t want it to be, there have been times there is an assassin right on top of me dealing damage and I auto-aim and it throws the super at the nearest low health teammate. Knowing this, always make sure to aim your super at critical times to ensure it hits the right area or target. The greatest ability is survivability, and that refers to both Byron and his teammates. You aren’t doing your teammates any justice while you’re dead, which is why Shot in the Arm is the correct gadget. If you get low health, the amount of time it takes to fall back and heal up can be life or death for teammates, being able to heal yourself while continuing to deal damage or heal teammates is crucial. It can often be beneficial to use Shot in the Arm at full health when you are about to engage, knowing that you are going to take damage. Shot in the Arm is not an instant heal, rather a heal over time, so it can be strategic to initiate it before you take damage so you become more tanky and are able to frontline an initiate against the enemy. Knowing that survivability is crucial, is why I chose the shield and gadget gears, if you are only able to choose one, I would prioritize the gadget gear, because it is used more in the middle of combat. Shield gear helps increase survivability and allows you to have more time and more opportunities to potentially heal teammates or damage enemies, remember you are no use to your team if you are dead. The injection star power when used correctly is deadly, at the very beginning of the fight, I like to hang back and try to position myself so that one shot will hit both my teammates and potentially one enemy. If you are only able to hit both teammates, that puts them in a position to play more aggressively as they are receiving passive heals as they engage on the enemy. Using this SP correctly can massively increase both healing and damage, because of this, positioning is majorly important for Byron. Always be aware of your Injection charge status, and try your best to not waste it on a standard shot to heal one target or damage one enemy. At the end of the day, never forget that survivability is the best ability, for both you and your teammates, do everything you can to keep them alive while you continue to provide pressure toward the enemy team and prevent them from pressing forward toward your team.
Game Modes
![Gem Grab](/brawl-stars/res/img/modes/icon_gem_grab.png)
Gem Grab
This mode is very good for Byron, because once one of your teammates is carrying enough gems to initiate the countdown, it is very easy to stand behind them and continue hitting them to heal them and prevent them from dying and dropping gems, almost feels like a cheat code once your team is in countdown mode.
![Hot Zone](/brawl-stars/res/img/modes/icon_hot_zone.png)
Hot Zone
Keeping your teammates and yourself alive means that you can spend more time on the capture point, prioritizing your teammates who are in strong positions to heal can lead to easy wins and lots of pressure on the enemy. If your teammate is pushing up past the capture point, don’t waste your ammo trying to heal, focus on those who are actively capturing the zone.
![Knockout](/brawl-stars/res/img/modes/icon_knockout.png)
Knockout
This is arguable Byron’s best game mode, this is the mode where staying alive is the most important and Byron can assist teammates with that very well. Knowing your teammates only have one life per round, you should pay more attention to their health bars than other modes as you position yourself correctly and push the enemy.
![Bounty](/brawl-stars/res/img/modes/icon_bounty.png)
Bounty
Another mode where staying alive is important, however not as important as knockout. Keeping your teammates alive is crucial for victory in this mode, if one teammate has a large bounty, you should fall back and prioritize healing them. If you are the one with the large bounty, play more passively and be prepared to use Shot in the Arm to stay alive.
