Carl's next attack makes his pickaxe pull him to the farthest point of the attack.
Protective Pirouette
During Carl's Super, all damage he receives is reduced by 35%.
Damage
Deal 15% extra Damage when your Brawler is below 50% Health.
Gadget Charge
Increases number of Gadget uses per battle by 1.
Guide
A basic introduction to Carl's best build, and adjustments to include for specific encounters.GADGETFlying Hook will be very useful to finish off enemies, escape tight situations, and to help start the early game in a comfortable position.While Heat Ejector does deal quite a bit of damage, it does not make up for the mobility you sacrifice by using it.STAR POWERProtective Pirouette will help Carl pull off more risky plays and ease up a lot of the more trickier matchups.Power Throw does not provide much value when compared to his other star power, it is only really useful against specific comps and even then it makes a minimal difference and is not worth the gold.GEARSDamage gear is essential for Carl as for most assassins. Carl usually deals 1480 (2960) damage with his main attack and 1000 (9000) damage with his super, with the damage gear activated he now deals 1702 (3404) damage with his main attack and 1150 (10350) damage with his super.Gadget charge gear will help Carl a lot as his gadget is already one of the best in the game, and having an extra one will come in clutch.Shield gear is another very good gear for Carl, it helps him against certain matchups as that extra bit of hp could change quite a bit of interactions.Health gear is situational but useful on "race-based" modes like heist and 5v5 knockout.Vision gear should be equipped only on very specific maps like Double Swoosh or Infinite Doom.
Game Modes
Brawl Ball
Brawl ball is a very aggressive mode. While Carl by himself is great in brawl ball, a lot of the time you will be facing against other mobile assassins and aggressors. 4 Flying Hooks will come in handy in brawl ball, especially for dribbling and game-changing plays. You can also use your gadget to return to the game faster after respawn.
Bounty
Carl is a great aggressor in bounty because of his ranged damage and gadget utilities. If your opponents do not have another mobile assassin with a similar gimmick like Buzz, you can use your gadget to get the blue star early.
Hot Zone
Carl is great in hot zone because of his ability to keep his distance and his potential to teamwipe. Same with bounty, you can use your gadget to get to the the zone first, however against certain matchups you can also use it to get to the opponents main zone on maps with 2 zones.
Gem Grab
Carl is an excellent gem carrier in gem grab because of his high mobility. While carrying the gems you should keep your distance, only using your gadget or super when necessary. If not carrying the gems however, you should keep track of your lane and play very aggressively, using your gadget as an opportunity to kill the opponent's carrier if you happen to catch them off guard.
